The project explored opportunities for transforming a degraded agricultural site into a landscape enhancement project, to replace a visually prominent former piggery complex with an exceptional new dwelling set within a restored chalk downland landscape. The strategy combined landscape character assessment, visual analysis, habitat enhancement and landform restoration to demonstrate how development could deliver significant landscape, ecological and visual enhancement in conjunction with the historic landscape structure and surrounding ecological context.
