ETHOS
Landscape is the foundation of place. Its landform, vegetation, history and patterns shape how people experience the world and give each location its unique identity.
A successful development begins with a deep understanding of landscape character and context, with proposals that respond positively to their surroundings, reinforce local distinctiveness and make a lasting contribution to the landscape.
Landscape planning, design and assessment expertise enable opportunities within complex sites to be realised. Through a balanced consideration of environmental, visual and functional factors, successful and enduring places can be created.

Approach
Every project begins with careful observation and analysis of the site and its wider landscape setting. Understanding landform, vegetation, settlement patterns, heritage influences, visual relationships and landscape character provides the foundation for informed and responsive design. Assessment is not an end point but a design tool: a means of understanding landscape, guiding change and creating place

 Landscape and Visual Assessment:
Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) and Appraisal (LVA) are used as a design‑informing process, not simply a reporting requirement.
LVIA methods are applied to understand the landscape, explore capacity for change, and test emerging proposals.
This dialogue between assessment and design helps refine schemes at an early stage, reducing potential impacts and strengthening their relationship with the landscape.
The result is a clear and robust evidence base that supports planning, informs decision-making and helps deliver development that is both environmentally responsible and visually appropriate.
