This landscape architecture and landscape planning project demonstrates a landscape-led approach to development at the edge of a village within the Dorset National Landscape. The design has been informed by a comprehensive Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA), landscape character appraisal, and site analysis, ensuring the proposals respond positively to local landscape character and visual amenity. A strong green infrastructure framework incorporating public open space, native tree planting, biodiversity enhancements, and pedestrian connections helps integrate the development into its rural setting, while conserving and enhancing the qualities of the Dorset National Landscape. The resulting scheme delivers a sustainable, attractive, and resilient landscape that benefits both existing and future communities while strengthening ecological networks and sense of place.
