Landscape Strategy
LVA Photomontages - Before / Year 0 / Year 15
The landscape strategy promotes the conservation and enhancement of the area's open downland character through the sensitive siting of development, strategic screening, and locally distinctive mitigation planting. Informed by Landscape and Visual Appraisal (LVA) and landscape character considerations, the proposals are aligned with planning policy and landscape guidance, ensuring the protection of views into and out of the Dorset National Landscape (formerly AONB).
Native tree, hedgerow and scrub planting are proposed to integrate the employment development within Bourne Park and enhance the experience of surrounding Public Rights of Way. Existing trees and hedgerows are retained and strengthened as important landscape features and components of the site's green infrastructure network. Native planting and rain gardens contribute to biodiversity, sustainable drainage, ecological connectivity and long-term landscape resilience, creating a well-integrated and environmentally responsive employment setting.
